Emma Sargeant is a self-taught artist, currently based in London. Emma is primarily an oil painter but also uses a variety of other mediums which include soft pastel, pencil, acrylic and more.

As a painter, Emma is interested in the subtle emotion of movement, intimacy and expression and explores this with her subject matter of people or nature. Emma Sargeant’s paintings are often wild in stroke, reflecting a sense of life and energy beyond the static canvas.

Emma enjoys working on projects with others, collaborations of interconnecting creative practices. She has incorporated her dance and chalk mural background in performance and video pieces and has transcribed a writer’s prose with paintings.
